Sizzling Winter Blog Hop & Treasure Hunt
Being a mom is certainly the most wonderful and important job in the world. However, it’s also true that maintaining a sense of self is vital for modeling self love and self respect to your children.
Momnesia tells an honest story about how one mom loses herself to her wife and mom identities, and ultimately comes to rediscover that, although she’s a mom, she’s also an Actual Woman with her own set of needs, wants, and desires. Lori Verni-Fogarsi spins a cautionary tale to help moms in any stage of Momnesia to take a second look at what they accept as their life and ask, “Is this enough?”
Certainly everyone has moments in their life when they wake up and wonder, “What am I doing? Am I truly happy? Is there something else that I should be doing that would be more true to myself?” Verni-Fogarsi asks these questions from a mom’s perspective. The main character makes some tough choices that, although painful, are ultimately better for everyone in the long term. She stops living for other people, and instead does those things that make her happy, thereby teaching those around her to do the same.
Momnesia is a must-read book for all moms wishing to maintain a sense of self without having to go through late-stage Momnesia in their own lives.
